Does anyone know a website where I could download some good CGI where all I would have to do is chroma key out a color and pace it on top of my film. I'm looking for things like Lighting, Lasers, and possible a proton stream form ghostbusters. If anyone could help me out it would be must apreciated. Thanks!

I know there is at least one site with gunshots, explosions and the like at NTSC resolution, but I don't have a URL for it. Google may turn it up with a careful choice of search words.

There's also software called 'AlamDV' which is supposed to handle these kind of effects cheaply on video footage. I wasn't impressed with the version I tried a couple of years ago, but some people have said the later versions are a lot better.

Try here - http://www.matthawkins.co.uk/index.php?module=pagesetter&func=viewpub&tid=5&pid=63

This has some good free stuff on it, and a lot of other useful articles and 'how to's' as well. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I found this site a long time ago but I forgot what it was. This will be very useful, but I am still open for more sites if you happen to know more or if someone else knows more.

If I find anymore links I'll post them. Alternatively, you could always ask me to do it for you! I have Lightwave and After Effects and could knock something together pretty fast.

I've been thinking of making some animated shorts with Lightwave (I have a copy too), so I may need assistance at some point :).

Wow "Iron Fist" if you could make something for me that would realy be sweet! I didn't think anyone would offer that. All I need is a simple laser shot. Its for a Predator movie so it should blue. If you could just put it over a green or black background I can edit it in over the shot. I can even adjust the size and placement so it should be realy easy for you. If you could try it for a couple of different angles that would cool too, but if you don't have the time, thats o.k. THANKS!

No problem White Tiger, I'll see what I can do. Just a blue laser shot? Would a straight left-right horizontal, right-left horizontal and a straight shot towards camera be ok?

MarkG - What kind of shorts do you have in mind?

Well, I was going to make a Lego zombie movie, but the Lego chainsaw guy appears to be out of production now (or, at least, I can't find him on the web site I was looking at a couple of months ago), so I thought that maybe making it in Lightwave would be easier than using real Lego anyway :).

White Tiger - These are done and ready to email you if you still want them? They're in Quicktime format and no more than about 50kb each.

Mark - I'm not too hot on character animation but I know someone who might be able to help, so I'll get in touch with them if thats ok?

Actually it would probably be more building sets than characters...
