I'm almost ready to start auditioning for my cast, but my problem is this. I aint got a clue about how to go about finding a suitable space to hold my auditions! And since I want to create a sense of proffessional atmosphere, holding them at home is'nt an option.

Help!!!!

Thanks, Cleary.

You might try (a) a theater where they give plays (b) A college campus which would usually have lots of rooms of all sizes (c) High school which would also have large rooms you might be able to use (d) City Hall or other city buildings (library) usually have rooms for rent for group meetings (e) Location, if you have a specific location where you know a lot of scenes will be shot it might be useful to use that as an audition area. (f) Lastly you could rent a meeting room at a hotel, but even having it at a hotel might send a certain vibe you're hoping to avoid so I'd try this only as a last resort.

You could try holding it in the quiet room in the nags head. At least the hopefuls can then drown their sorrows if they are not picked 😉 Rjschwarz has some good ideas. Some hotels allows people to use rooms as business premises. My mate runs an internet recruitment business from a Hotel in Norwich.

I know the local cinemas have rooms so kids can have parties but I wonder if they have other rooms available for hire. Added bonus you can all go see a good movie whilst you are there.

I had actually though about hiering a room out at my local social club, but it proved a bit costley. Still the cinemas is some thing to think about, though it might be some what misleading.

If your local social club is a bit on the expensive side then I?d imagine the cinema would be too. You could try and get somewhere on the cheap promising them a bit of free advertising within the film you are doing. Depends on the subject your film is about somewhat though. I cant see you having much use for a shot of the social club if your film is set in a galaxy far, far away etc ?:D?. Maybe you could ask your old school drama group if you could use their stage/hall for a while. The kids doing drama could get a bit of practical experience for free.

I use my local college campus. the music building has some practice rooms as well, so i usually use those, as nobody is in there most of the time. Yet we have a great music program, ironic? lol
