"Reatlity" shows are evil; designed by Satan himself.
Please, don't do it. Resist temptation. Or all will be lost.
I know this doesn't help you. Sorry.

Good luck!

I've worked on a few.

With 4 people in the "cast" I suggest you have a minimum of 24 cameras. 1 dedicated to following each of the 4 people, 2 for "interviews", 2 static cameras in each room (assuming living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, hallways, den and bathrooms) and 4 outside.

All running 18/24 hours a day. Stagger the start time of the static cameras so you only need 2 crew people to swap out tapes every hour and make sure you have enough support personal (say 2 per operator) to cover all shifts.

Then edit your 1,728 hours of tape into 60 to 90 minutes of fun, fun fun!

That's a bit daunting for someone apparently looking to do this for fun.

I do think that you should start referring to this project as something of a "reality comedy" rather than a show since, well, you're only doing one shows (I assume). As for cameras, have one following each character constantly. You don't need separate cameras for interviews; if someone's being interviewed, you can just use their follow camera. Static cameras for rooms can be tricky since most of the time, your following cameramen will get in the shots. If you're looking to really low-budget this, maybe have tripods fixed to the following cameras so you can just quickly lay them down if you anticipate an important scene.

Improvise. This is entirely doable with 4-5 cameras.

Make sure there's plenty of sex and violence.
