Hi all. Long time reader of these boards, first time having a go at discussion.
I am currently writing my first screenplay. It is a dark comedy about a group of 4 strangers that get trapped in a room and have to figure out a way to get out. They get to know each other along the way and discuss their station in life, as well as what lead them to the room in the 1st place.
Now: I've written the script in such a way that each of the characters back story leading directly up until the moment they get trapped in the room is at the beginning. I like what I've written in each case, and I want it included in the script somewhere. My question is, would it be be more effective to instead start the story in the room and have each character tell their back story as a voice over, or leave it as is?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
You could do it in the "Lost" kinf of style. Each character is sort of thinking of their past at one moment and then you show the video of their past.

Thanks for the advice. Ironically, I discussed this with a friend of mine and he suggested the Lost idea as well. I'm not familiar with the show, but will seek out a few episodes and have a look.
Thanks again!
Watch Amor y perros.
