Hi,

After I cut the movie in Premiere Pro 1.5 I render the final cut using its own encoder. As I understood Premiere does not export the final result in MPEG4. Is there a possibility to import Premiere project in any other encoder (DivX for instance) and encode using another software. Or are there some kind of plug-ins for Premiere for this reason. Also please suggest the export (encoding) setting that would best fit the short or feature film that should go to DVD Disk and also what would be the best setting for home vide. Thank you in advance.

David

For DVD authoring the best format to export to is mpeg2 (not 4). If you still need an encoder either use Sorenson Squeeze or Canopus ProCoder Express (its around $50 on www.journeyed.com). I have both, I find sorenson easier (both if you know what you're doing or not), procoder express is good to but in my opinion, more knowledge is needed (but not much).

Use these general settings (for either program):

Program Stream
Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
720x480 (or 4:3)

If you need more help with settings etc. let me know.

Hope I helped!
