Hi,

I'm trying to make a film where there is a storm I wondered how I can make it look like a massive wave of water is coming towards the actors thanks

what kind of view are you filming it at? (like from the back of the actor looking at the wave or from the side...etc.)

You'd probably have to create the wave with CG and then composite it in with the actors.

I don't want the actors to be in that bit. I just want to look at the upcomming road straight ahead and see water comming towards them a bit like this

.html?path=gallery&path_key=0319262&seq=13

but probablly wont be able to do anything as a good as that and I dont want my actors to be in it. Thanks

you could create on a CGI program or use a minature set and edit it later on, the actor has to be shot on blue screen too. So layers go" Actor, Wave, Background.

Try cinema 4D or Bryce.

Both are fairly easy to use software packages for creating the kind of effects you're talking about.

If shooting minatures, you need a pretty high frame rate to make anything look convincing, such cameras are costly. Slowing down 25 fps material to look real doesn't really work, especially with water.
