I have a similar problem to the television sound in final cut topic. I have a scene in my film where someone is talking into a walkie talkie/two way radio, and then it cuts to the person with the other radio, but I can't seem to find the right audio filters and effects to make it sound right. I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar problem or come up with a solution to this prolem.

Go to a sporting goods store or outdoor store, most sell two way radios from cheap to pretty expensive.
Get two radios and record the conversation and import to your editing program.

Looping something like that would be very difficult, and it would make more sense to be able to control the amount of distortion. Use the apple Bandpass or run down the list and find something that works in a sound program (if you don't have one, audacity is free). Just a note though, you're going to have to tweak settings to get the right sounds.
Thanks ETN for actually posting something worth reading. I'll look into it.

I apologize that my response wasn't worth reading.
Whoops, meant to put that the other way. Let me change my last post. Thanks Daved for actually posting something worth reading. Because I buying walkie talkies as DaveD said, would be difficult and with Dave's solution, I can control the amount of distortion.

In your post you ask for some one to come up with a solution. I do not see the difficulty in what I suggested. I do have audacity. I am not an Oscar award winning editor like you guys, but have been able to manufacture and capture sounds and import into my program and control the sound.
I apologize for writing something not worth reading. Sorry for wasting your time.

This is not a way to treat someone who is trying to help you.
I think ETN produvtions post is the best way to go. What is hard about his idea!! just record the dialougue whilst speaking into walkie talkies. Ok yes looping it may be hard but it is worth a try!
Also you reasons for not doing this idea are:
1)
quote:
it is diffcult to buy a walkie talkie
i do not understand how this is possibly difficult
2)
quote:
with Dave's solution, I can control the amount of distortion
If you record it through walkie talkies you can still edit the recording in an editing program and control the distortion.
I think it would be better to start off from a recording through walkie talkies as you are halfway there and you can still edit it to get it how you want it whereas strating off with "clean/normal" dialogue will be alot harder to get a good realistic sound.
You may as well try this method as you an still edit the recording and if it works then you have saved yourself alot of work!!
Thanks
