Hello everyone,
I was looking at all of my footage the other day as well as looking at other sites, and I realized that Color Correction is forgotten about by a lot of people. I wanted to encourage those of you who do not color correct to discover the wonder! Below is a picture of a fall day here in California...the first is a regular still from untouched Sony Vx2100 footage, set on auto everything. The next is a still taken from the same time but with the color raised on the camera and color corrected for a rich, warm feel in Avid Xpress Pro. The last link is a clip of the actual scene color corrected. Keep up the awesome post production work!

what settings did you use to get that look in the corrected version?
First, I set my Sony VX2100 in custom preset: raised the color level, raised the sharpness, Slide WB shift to right, set shutter speed to 60fps.
Then I applied color correction effect to the clip. In the effect editor, I adhusted the Curves until I liked the look. Then, in the HSL offset monitor, I hit Auto adjust. Then I messes with the Gamma, Brightness and Contrast, until I liked what I saw. I then exported it to After Effects.
In Efter Effects, I duplicated the layer, and set the Top Image Blending mode to Soft Light. I set its Opacity to 30-40 percent. I then applied a Blur of 1 percent. And there you have it.
