OK, here's what I want to do.

I want to shoot my movie in uncompressed 4:4:4 10-bit HD. I then want to do an online edit without down converting in Final Cut Pro.

I know that Final Cut cannot do this natively according to Apple's site. Is there a way to do this with an additional card and/or plugin, and if so, could someone explain to me what is required?

Thanks in advance!

I think you can offline to one of Apple's realtime HD codecs (this'll save you HD space anyway) and then do an assembly edit. I've never done work this high-end before, but the names I hear tossed around in respect to uncompressed HD are Blackmagic and DeckLink. Hope I'm not being completely irrelevant.

I'm looking at renting a rig that uses a Sony HDW-F900 body, but I'm seriously right at the begining so I haven't even researched all the camera possibilities. I plan to stylize quite a bit, so most of my look will be decided in post. Other than some diffusion, I plan to capture the best possible image I can so that I have more to work with.

Being a corporate video guy, my workflow has been dv and hdv up to this point. But for this film, I want the best possible quality. (without shooting film, of course)
