Hoping someone can help. Has anyone used the GY-HD100U Camera, JVC HDV format camera? I used it for a doc project - now I'm trying to transfer the footage to my computer, using latest edition of final cut pro and I can't. This camera is apparently not compatible with anything it seems - I've talked to an editing house and they said that the computer software that can convert it won't be available for 2 weeks plus it costs $260. There's also the option of transferring to DVD which I'm waiting on a quote on - which will likely be high since I can't afford to lose any of the image quality.
Are there any other options?

Interesting. I just finished a feature using the HD100U. I have FCP 5 on the iMac and captured everything with no new software - just the usual firewire.
