Pro tools does mix sounds. And you can import your finished video into it and line everything up. all you really have to do is make more than one track and use the mixer to adjust your levels. You can also pan things left and right. Even the cheapest version of protools comes with some type of m-box that will allow you to record all the foley sfx you need. With the audio suite or the inserts you can manipulate any of your sounds so you can achieve what it is you are going for.

Pro tools was suggested to you in the beginning by certified instigator, the research for what it can do was expected by you.

well sorry! I did do my research but not as well as I should. I didn't see that you can mix sounds only that you can edit them. I thought it was like audacity. Please forgive me ?:)?

I would definitely look at other options besides just Protools. Cubase, Logic (if on mac), Samplitude, Reaper (really cheap), these don't have to be used with any specific hardware. That way you don't end up spending on stuff you don't need and you can have a more customized hardware setup. I use Cubase and find it to be a great mix platform. But you should try out demos of some of these and get a feel for what works best for you. If you do any work with another Protools system then, by all means, get Protools. Workflow will be a snap.

Hope this helps.
