im in search of very high quality realistic sounding gun fxs if anyone knows any place that has good one let me know
Well I'm not sure of any sites or places that sell these things, but I found an interesting way to make very nice rifle sounds. I had a tin can, about 6 inches high and about 7 inches in circumference. It was filled about 1/4 of the way with nickels and pennies and such. I would hang a mic down over top of the can, and drop either nickels (a deeper sound) or quarters (a thinner sound with more of a trebly crack) into the can. Once you slow this sound down on your computer, you should get some pretty realistic sounding rifle effects. Of course, this may not be the best route for you, I just thought I'd share my findings.
'In the life that man creates for himself, he too, creates his demise... and his legacy.'
'In the life that man creates for himself, he too, creates his demise... and his legacy.'
One thing to note, it is very, very, rare to have realistic gun sounds in a movie. Guns sound less than impressive, almost fake, on film because we've been accustomed to the big bangs of movies.
So I guess what I'm saying is you should decide what you want. Realistic movie gun sounds, or realistic gun sounds.
There is a similar issue with muzzle flashes which are very difficult to capture on camera (unless you're talking an automatic rifle) but which appear in nearly every show with a gunshot.
