Need to remove the sound of a 16mm film camera from my location recording DAT tapes. Just wondering if anyone has found particular success using any specific software or plug-in settings?

For the 16mm short I made a while back (set mostly in a coffin, so it was hard to avoid camera noise :)) I think we used CoolEdit Pro to eliminate most of the noise. The end result wasn't perfect -- I can still hear faint chattering when I listen for it -- but with some atmos on top it was far less noticeable than the original DAT tape.
I'm sure there's better software for the purpose, but I believe that's quite cheap (my audio guy did the work for me, so I don't know for sure).
