How do you prevent dropped frames in Final cut? Im working with studio 2 using Unlimited RT with a medium play back quality with fottage converted to .mov from the .mts format. I have multiple layers layered above each other as I am making a music video, so I had intended to layer all my footage in sync and select the best clips for each sequence.
Ive searched on youtube and FCP help offers no advice what so ever 🙁
Thanks, Cleary.

Do you have multiple sequences open? Sometimes that can hog up memory and make it skip (at least according to the Final Cut Pro pop-up window).
Do you have enough ram?
I still have the occasional dropped frame as well, not sure why so I'm looking forward to other answers.

Have you tried De-interlacing your clips. That may solve the problem. Also if you shot 24p, you may have to reconvert your mts files. sometimes in conversion it will give you a ghost frame that shows on the end of a clip, but when you render it disappears.

Im making a music video, so Ive literally got the .wav audio of the track and two clips with dual audio layers. But theres that many drop frames running through it that I cant play it through properly to set markers for cutting.
I clicked off the warning function that was telling me what to do so I cant do anything about it. I tried consulting the program help but I couldn't find anything about it!!!
Im running it through a external terabyte with 800GB left.
Im working with the cameras standard 25p, and by de-interlacing do you mean when Im converting the footage to .mov?
Thanks for the help, we'll get there.
Cleary.

Actually you can render out your clips, either seperatley or together, and cut your clips apart after. Render out your footage, and bring it back in. That will fix your problem most likely. I think your issue is with your timeline. I think your timeline is set up differently than you footage. That can happen sometimes. If you render out an uncompressed .mov file of the files with all the setting set for your time line it may fix your problem. If you want to test it, just do a one or two minute clip.
