I am currently trying to edit some footage and I keep experiancing an error with the DV device playback. I'll playback the footage and it'll look great on the camcorder (sony hc65) and then the screen will go blue for a second. This is extremely disruptive as this happens when I export to tape also. The strange thing was that i captured 3 hours of footage flawlessly. I just purchased the computer one month ago (Gateway gm5072) and it has 2 gigabytes of Ram , 320 gig hard drive, nvidia geforce 6100 video card and a dual core amd 4200+ processor (each core clocked at 2.2 GHZ). This is extremely annoying. I tried the camcorder on my laptop , with my 4 pin to 4 pin firewire cord and it was flawless. Could it be the 4 to 6 pin firewire cable used at my desktop even though it captured flawlessly, and the error still happens on both ports? I know its not a DMA issue on my computer since i checked an its enabled. I spent 2 nights up with no sleep trying to get it to work and I can't go anymore. So if anyone has any advice i'd love it at this point.
