I read the Premiere manual about exporting edited footage back to videotape, but I don't completely understand it.
Does anyone know how to transfer the right way from Adobe Premiere to a recording video source (vcr)? This would greatly help me.
Thanks

What version of premiere do you run?

I use premiere pro now but I think its about the same. What I do is connect my DV cam to the firewire and put it on VCR mode. Click on export to tape. It should then give you the option for color bars or black video at the header of your film. Once you make the choice your screen should go black or color bars depending on what and how long you selected. At this point I turn my camera on record by hitting pause record via the cameras' remote. If done correctly you should see the video show up on your cameras lcd screen (if you have one) or the eyepiece. When the video is done simply turn off the camera.
Then when you want to put it on VHS you run your camera out to VCR via composit cables or s-video. Hit play on camera and record on vcr and you should have a perfect copy.
This is the way I do it. You dont have to record back to your camera and then to the vhs later. You can skip this and run through your camera and record to the vhs without recording on your camera dv tape. The camera (or a digital deck) is needed to convert your digital signal into analog for your vhs.
The reason I record back on to mini dv is that I make a master tape of all my finished projects that way if my hardrive wipes I have a perfect copy of my all my finished projects ready to record onto whatever format I need.
I know this was lengthy but hope it helps.

Thanks a lot. I tried something similar to that a while back, but it didn't work. I'll try what you said though, it sounds reasonable.
Thanks!
