I use Adobe After Effects. I'm decent with it. I am always learning something new. So if anyone out there is unfamiliar with this software and needs some stuff done on their movie, let me know. I'm not charging. This is about networking, making friends and getting some notches on my belt.
Send me a private message or just have a discussion here.
I am more interested in working on "shorts".
Hey, I have a short I'd love to have someone work on for me....problem is, deadline is coming up soon, we're talking like, Nov 3rd here, so, if you're interested, what I need is 1) Shadow removal 2) Hallucination effect(streaking light, blurring, etc.) 3) A person getting blown away like sand.
Reply back ASAP and we'll talk detail. I'm willing to compensate because of the deadline, but I need perfect stuff.
hallucination effect should be no problem, shadow removal would probally be done best with motion tracking and brighting of a mask that covers the shadow. the sand part..it's confusing. not sure what you are talking about. sounds like something that would have needed to be worked out during filming..green screen, etc.
send me the movie in a zip, if you have it spliced up into scenes, send me the hallucination scene and explain what type of effect you want give me something to work with.

I think one of the 'Mummy' movies had a guy or a statue turning into sand that was blown away by the wind, maybe that's the effect that's wanted?
I don't know about After Effects, but Fusion has an option to create particle effects from a bitmap; you'd still have to rotoscope the actor and find a clean shot of the background to put behind them when you turned them into sand, but at least in theory it would be doable if AE has similar tools.
Of course whether it could be done on short notice is a completely different matter!
i enjoy following the rules of software, but as film makers and creators of media we all know it is fun to bend the rules. i like to come up with my own ways to do things. particle system is a must. a morph of the original person could be done. possibly using opacitys to create a smooth transition. i also like to work as clean as possible. that's why the original background would be needed as a still or motion tracked with 3rd party software - match mover. so the flow will match the scene.
