I'm currently working on a midievel/fantasy film short to enter into a film festival. Pretty much the only thing I'm struggling with right now is finding royalty free orchestral music for the soundtrack. It must be orchestral though and not synthesized which is what I have only been able to find. However, if it sounds extremely close to being orchestral, such as with the Garritan Personal Orchestra software, or even some of the film composer Hans Zimmers score, than that would be fine. I am willing to pay for the music if need be. I have searched high and low and cannot find what I am looking for. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you very much.

You could always find an old classcical song and get a highschool band/orchestra to play if in exchange for movie credit.

Yes I could do that, but I just do not have the time or resources to do so. One would need a fairly good recording studio, which costs money, and I doubt if the school ensemble would spend the time for free either. Really I just need either some samples or full orchestra themes to buy or for free preferably. Thanks!

The only one I know of is Sonny Boo, not really orchestral, but there has to be others out there doing a similar thing. Otherwise if you have a Mac you could buy soundtrack, or one of the garage band additions, there has to be orchestral in there somewhere.

Anyway the link to Sonny Boo's musical downloads.

Hi - I would be interested in scoring original music for your film as I am looking to extend my work as a composer and currently have some projects on the go - this would be ideal for me - perhaps for us both. Please email if interested with more details. bhwhumphries?hotmail.com

Hi,

I will write you a free music score. I write orchestral music and use Garritan for samples. If you're interested, check out http://chrishurn.com or email me: chrishurn?gmail.com.
