Do any of you know of a website that tells you what editing software was used for movies released theatrically? Software like Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut. I've always thought there should be a site that gives you all the production details of a certain movie.

I suspect you mean edited, not shot :).

Generally it's been Avid for big movies in the last decade or so, but Final Cut Pro is starting to become more common. But there's no reason why you can't cut a 35mm feature in Premiere if you want to.

There is! http://www.imdb.com/ It doesn't list every production detail on every film, but there is a lot of production detail there including what camera was used and very often what editing software, which as Mark pointed out, is generally Avid.

There is also a place for it on www.Wikipedia.org

If you serach for Final Cut Pro, it will tell you the feature films that have been edited with it, such as Shaun of the Dead.

When the script writing is done, the work has just begun. When the filming is done, the work has just begun. When post-production is done, the work has just begun. When the distribution is done, you decide if the work is done.
