I've been editing off a single hard dive on my Mac Book Pro. I'd like to get an external hard dive and use it as the scratch drive.
This is the one I want to get: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=698
It's what I can afford for now, is it any good?
By the way, I edit videos shot with Canon 7D and HVX200 camera's
Thanks all.
Edit: I'm also looking at this one: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4151785&SRCCODE=LSCAN&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=2URpmDXhqIw-SHoqEDSMQAWUNnbcZTnA0g
Both of them are USB 2.0, would that be a problem?
I use USB 2.0 and it works fine for me. If your looking to make a full length movie or even multiple shorts, I would suggest looking into at least a 1 TB hard drive. You can get them for around $100. I have a Western Digital 1 TB external and haven't had any problems with it.

For your $100, you'll get twice the storage (as bamboonut said):
