Is there realy that much of a difference between Avid and Liquid?
And if so, where could I find manuals on the internet for Avid?
Thanks,
Tom
By Liquid I mean "Liquid Edition Pro".
Yeah, huge difference: Liquid took a lot of ideas from the Avid user interface, but it's a very different program. For one thing, the traditional Avid software is basically designed for video editing and nothing else, whereas the Liquid software does everything from capturing video to burning DVDs at the end.
Personally I found Liquid Edition really buggy and crash-prone when it was Pinnacle software, I hope Avid have improved it. It was the only software which could routinely cause my PC to spontaneously reboot.
I know you used to be able to download the Avid Xpress Pro manual from the web, but I can't find a link for it now.
The only problem with Avid (pretty much any of them) is that it can't export movs or any file that you would want in order to burn it to dvd etc.
It sucks. You pretty much need a high end encoder/converter.
Xpress Pro comes with Sorenson Squeeze, which will convert to most common formats.
