The only thing i can say is DivX. If u don't know what it is check it out at www.divx.com. and when u use premiere u can do a custom rendering and use this codec as ure compressor.

what i do is open the files in the program that came free with my camera, which sucks as an editor, but does allow you to select what format to save in. so i convert most of my files to mpeg1 files, and they are a tenth of the size.

adobe premiere 6.5 does come with an mpg encoder, you could use that. it's nice and simple and the quality is nice. of course you could also use divx but that'd leave you with compatibility problems if you want to show your movie at another computer. It'd would have to have divx installed. On the other hand. mpeg is installed with most windows versions, so you'd have no trouble.

you could also buy a bigger hard drive of course 🙂
