OK, here's a tricky one:
Almost every professional movie this days, even if shot in film (like most of them are), are subjected to digital manipulations, and so, a digital conversion is needed to apply this effects, and perhaps even the editing is done in digital format.
Afterwards, they are converted to film once again.
Question:
Before they are converted to film, in what format is the movie in? HD? PAL? What resolution is used for the post prod. effects?
Isn't film supposed to be the highest quality available? And so, if the film becomes digital, and then again film, isn't that perfection lost, at least in terms of 'resolution'?
Thanks for your time
depends on what format the film was converted too. here in nyc, the place is called "minds eye" Yes theres only one place that does this! anyway he converts it into digital. so it can be Mini DV, or DV. i never really asked him about other formats. i have it put on dv and import it to my mac through my VTR.
