Read subject. ?:)?

And I was also wondering what the movie has to contain to get certain ratings. Like what does a movie have to have to get an R rating and stuff like that.

Thank you very very much,
Micah

There are no hard and fast rules which has caused many problems for Hollywood. The board submits the film to a different person/group each time and that group may suggest a different rating than another group might have. Judge by similar films and hope for the best.

If you are writing the screenplay I wouldn't worry about the rating. Write the best screenplay you can, many movies are never rated (original Dawn of the Dead for example). On the other hand trying to write down to the rating of an R-movie castrated Day of the Dead before filming even started.

Really? I'll keep that in mind.

We wanted to write a very very gory movie, and I just wanted to know that. Thanks though.

i think if a movie is unrated its automatically 18+. but in UK i think you gotta get it rated. by the BBFC and tht costs like ?3 a min.

In the days of straight to video DVD sales it is increasingly common for the horror movies to not bother. A lot will create the full gore cut for DVD and then the sanitized TV version (for Sci Fi Channel or whomever) so that the TV version can act like a comercial and drive DVD sales for the curious. This works with T&A as well. I saw House of the Dead 2 and Hide and Creep on Sci Fi Channel and bought both DVDs afterwards (in one case hoping it was better without the cuts, in the other simply to support zero budget zombie movie making).

Yeah I watch too many zombie movies. That's my burden, I can handle it.
