Hey, I'm doing some outdoor training videos for a workout routine, and there's a big Coca-Cola sign in the background. I need to blur it out, and I feel like I should know how to do that, but I can't figure it out... I'm using Final Cut. Anyone know? Thankssss
There are plug-ins to help but one way to do what you want is:
Duplicate the layer and blur the living heck out of it. Stack them one above the other. Then use a garbage matte over the sign so that the blurry layer shows through instead of the sign.
This is far easier if you are using a tripod, otherwise your sign will shake out from beneath the matte. I don't know how to make mattes move yet but hopefully someone on this forum will chime in if you need that info.
