ok here is the problem. I finished editing my short at home. All i was waiting for was the music. I now have the music. Unfortunatley i am at college 3 hours away from home. Is there a way that they can email me my project to me without getting the "media offline" problem? i still need to edit it so i dont think they can send me it as a quicktime movie. or can they? i dont know. I am using Final Cut Pro

It seems to me that they would have to send you the entire project file, captured video, and any titles/pictures/etc. that you were using.

I'm sure they could send it but depending on how large the files are it may take a while to a)Upload and b)Download.

I know it?s probably to late now put you could set up something such as a vpn so that you can connect to the computer the files are on and dl directly from the comp. I know you can do vpns on windows and assume you can do them on macs also, however I have no experience with macs. Another alternative would be setting up a ftp server temporarily on the computer. However both of these solutions can be somewhat complicated to do and depending on the skill level of whoever would be setting it up at home it may be too hard. For example if you have a router and set up an ftp server your going to have to poke a hole in your firewill and make sure that your allowing traffic through typically on port 21.

If it will still help, make a Final Cut Movie (File>Export>Final Cut Movie) and have them send it to your e-mail via www.yousendit.com. My friend and I are working on our short right now and he is doing the audio editing. I edited the film and I sent it to him in Boston (about 2000 miles away) and he's working on the audio now and will send it back to me and I'll put it on DVD.

If you NEED all your files the easiest way would just be to put it all on a CD and have them next day it to you via UPS or FedEx.
