I need to make a poster for my short for this film festival. I would like ot use some still frames from the short and raw footage. How do i grab a still frame and import it into photoshop? Im using FCP.

I've never used FCP so I can't help you on that one. A way that will work but won't look as good is to hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard. That will copy the screen and you can paste it in photoshop.

I was once shown a faster method, but the quality of the still wasn't that good, so I still use the longer, but effective way:

Place the scrubber on the frame you want to grab.
Modify > Make Still Frame. Drag the still into the time line:
File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion.
Under Format choose Still Image
Under Options choose JPEG

Whats the best way to create a still in Primiere. The only way I've found is Export>Frame but the quality is crap.
