I have created a war film trailer for a media project but need to create certain effects (bullets hitting the ground, blood coming off someone who was been shot etc.). I have very little money so if any knows of a free download for software that accommodates these kind of effects then please let me know!
Thanks.
www.Detonationfilms.com has a few bullet and blood hits that you can add in during post, they are a free download. What software are you using?
When I created these effects for little (cheap) projects I created the effects during filming. For example bullet hits on the ground I took a party popper, emptied the string and filled it with soil. Then attached in to a small metal pole and put it in the ground. Then tied fishing line to the string and the other end had someone holding it (off the edge of the frame) Then when he pulled the line the soil was fired in the air - bullet hit as someone ran past. You could use multiple ones for automatic guns.
Wasn't sure if you had finished filming or not so thought I would tell you about that method.

Fantastic, I'll give it a download. And the software is ULead - not that great but the best that's available to me!
And the sfx tips are great; I've still got plenty more to film so tips like that are very handy.
Thanks again
Ross
No worries.
You reckon you could post the trailer when you finished.
Also I take it you are from the UK, so what year you in?
