I have a still digital camera that takes decent video clips, and I'm planning to shoot a short film with that (while saving up for an actual video camera). My camera actually records the video as a Quicktime file, and I'm planning on using Premiere Pro to do the editing. I don't suppose Premiere will be able to edit the Quicktime (.mov) footage. If it can't, does anyone know of any programs that will allow me to convert the video into a premiere pro friendly format?

premiere should be able to work with it. If not, quicktime will let you export the file to a different format. Just open the file up in quicktime and click on file-export-and save it as a .avi file. If your version of quicktime wont allow you to do that, then you could probably import it into windows movie maker and export it from that. Just a few suggestions to keep you from having to spend money.
lol, That's great. I'm always up for saving money. Thanks, I'll try throwing it directly into Premiere, and see what happens. If it's any good when I'm finished with it, I'll post it here for all to see.

what do you think of premiere? i used it for a while and got sick of it. it just seemed more difficult to use than it needed to be.
i've never had a problem with it. I've gotten it to do most everything that i wanted it to do. For the things that it cant do, i usually go to after effects. What kind of problem did you have?
