I'm a newbie. Let me introduce myself I'm a junior editor who has recently formed a production company with a couple of friends. We mainly shoot music promos and usually use digibeta. However, this time our director wanted to use HD and a panasonic varicam for slow mos etc.

The facilities I use are Avid Symphony or Avid Nitris. I have spoken to our engineer and apparently it is not possible for us to digitise this footage (which records at 60fps as standard) into our system without using a frame rate convertor.

I have been told that it can be done on Final cut pro. Does anyone know anything about this variable rate format and avid.

help is desperately needed !!!!!
