I am capturing my clips. And it is dropping frames like crazy. Not so much in the dialogue scene's (still dropping some) but more when there is some sort of action (fight, running, shooting). Why is this? Could it be because i am using a laptop?? i think this might be why but im not sure. I have Dell Inspiron 1150 and i am using Sony Vegas as an editing program. I heard that if i buy an external hardrive then this might help but i dont know how to make the hard drive actually add memory to my computer. It just acts as a seperate tower. So...is there away to make it so it combines with my laptops memory??? or are there other suggestions about why im dropping frames or how to fix it.
"I believe the cinema is one of our principal forms of art. It is an incredibly powerful way to tell uplifitng stories that can move people to cry with joy and inspire them to reach for the stars."-Wes Craven
"Anyone who has ever been privileged to direct a film also knows that, although it can be like trying to write 'War and Peace' in a bumper car in an amusement park, when you finally get it right, there are not many joys in life that can equal the feeling." - Stanley Kubrick
Normally you need a second hard disk to capture video safely. You could get an external firewire drive, but I'm not sure how well it will work if you're capturing video through the same firewire chip that you're using to write to the hard disk.
