Can anybody please tell me what the process is called where you take footage shot during the day and make it appear as though it is a night scene?

Also, how is this achieved?

Thankyou

It's called "day for night" or "day to night".

When you shoot you can use a blue gel and adjust the apature so less light is reaching film or tape. Though a blue gel isn't always needed.

The more overcast when you are shooting. Hard shadows are a dead giveaway.

It can also be done in post. You can darken the picture and add a little more blue.
