The goal is to have the talent in black and white while the background is in hd.
When I drag 'old film' on sony vegas to the talent for it to be black and white...it makes the background look all fuzzy. Why?
The fore and background should have nothing to do with one another.

Its sony vegas..does anyone know how to make it NOT do this? The goal again is to have the person in black and white with a hd background.

thanks.

What you are implying is that the foreground (talent) shots are done in black & white, and in standard-def, while the background footage is in full colour in HD. If this is correct, the issue may be with the SD green screen shot, which my not have decent enough chroma info for a decent key, although that may not necessarily cause fuzziness on the whole background shot.Could you give a bit more details about shots? How was green screen shot, how was background shot, was it the same camera or not, etc...?
