Which is best S-vhs or composite?
Also I want quailty as I've paid out for the camcorda pd150 so should I set the resolution to max?

One of the great things about owning your own equipment is the luxury of experimenting.

Put together a short scene then export and import it using several different settings using both cables. And I think you can answer your own question about quality - I'm sure (even with experimenting) you know that setting the resolution to low or minimum won't be as good as "max".

And don't forget to try firewire - also called iLink and IEEE 1394. In my opinion that's the best way to transfer digital video.

I dont know much about that IEEE 1394

I have a USB connector on my motherboard. If I bought a cable would it work?? Or do I need a IEEE 1394 board?

Yes, you'll need a Firewire/IEEE1394 card. But they're pretty much free these days :).
