I currently have a MAC Book Pro with Final Cut Studio 5.0 I have reached a point where the laptop is incapable of handling my job load. I am considering switching to a PC for cost reasons my question what is the best, easiest, comes with the most stuff ect ect PC based editing software under $3,000 US
My advice for a non MAC editing platform would be to go with ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE 3, which retails around $1,500. Good luck!

Buy a PC, as powerful as you can afford (dual core or quad core, plus several 400MB+ SATA drives ($99 at newegg.com), kick ass graphics card, 4GB or more RAM). Then download the demo trial versions of software to find what works smoothly on your hardware with your size videos. That is my advice; I followed it myself and learned that both Adobe Premiere and Avid Liquid video editing software SUCKED on my system (dual core, 4GB RAM, dual nvidia GeForce 7900, 4 SATA (3GB/sec)--jerky or no audio during playback in preview/rendering window; but SONY Vegas rocked, excels and is only $120.
