I used to use Avid Xpress DV 3.5x (up until a month ago when I upgraded for $100 to Avid Pro HD 5.2.2 via www.journeyed.com.
The Avid forums are EXTREMELY helpful for any problem you might be having with any avid. You'll get an answer usually within 5-10 minutes of posting it.
As for your particular problem, what sound card are you using? If it's onboard sound then that could be your problem.
Ive tried avid and it usally takes 24-48 hours for a reply, and its usally you have spelt x wrong or plz dont double post.
Yep its on board. Someone said about it because the audio and video go into the same HD, you should buy 2 HD's. What you think?

I'm sure I used to get that error at some point in the distant past, but don't remember what caused it.
If it's only occuring at cuts between shots, can't you capture individual shots?
You could open the Avid Forum
I also going to find my problem's there
