Adobe Premiere Capturing Issues

I recently purchased the outstanding Canon XH A1 camera, I went out and tried it out in the front yard on several different settings, (exposure settings and stuff). I didn't touch the resolution at all and I am filming at 60i at a resolution of 1920 x 1280 (the default settings). So now I am trying to capture my video using Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. I have the camera connected to the computer via firewire.

Now here's the thing, when I open up the Capture screen in Premiere the software detects my camera since it is able to rewind and play the HDV tape inside of my camera. I have the same settings on both ends as well ( the camer is recording on HDV and Premiere is set up as a HDV 60i project). The problem is I can't view/preview my work before actually importing it to the workspace... The capture screen is just blank (black). Or sometimes I get this weird message saying that "The video is playing on Hardware" in several different languages... Anyone have a clue at to what is happening here?

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

I have figured out my problem, it was a simple mistake on my part. I simply forgot to switch the DV Control of the camera from OFF to ON.
