Hi,
I keep worrying about this.
If I use the optical ZOOM IN function in my small Panasonic 3ccd Mini DV camcorder, will the final result be pixelated?

Depends on how far you zoom in. try it and find out.
And were an epitaph to be my story
I'd have a short one ready for my own.
I would have written of me on my stone:
I had a lover's quarrel with the world.
Robert Frost (1874-1963
That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough! I'm going to clown college!
With OPTICAL zoom, you have nothing to worry about, as it is actually moving hte lens elements. Most consumer camcorders nowadays have about a 10x optical zoom.
It's when you get into the area of DIGITAL zoom that you start getting pixelation, because the lens is no longer moving--the camera is just digitally enlarging the image. Avoid this at all costs--I belive most cameras offer a method of turning off this "feature."
