mine is michel gondry from eternal sunshine... great movie and great direction in my opinion, who is your director of choice and perhaps give a reason or two for your choice?
I don't really have a single favoirte director; I can't just pick one out. However I do have several directors that I do enjoy.
Sergio Leone-Pretty much invented his own genre (speghetti western) His films are so stylized and stahnd out from all other films. Used the closeup like none other beofre, and utilized Morricon'es music perfectly.
Martin Scorsese- Has been going at it for over 30 years now, and has churned out classic after classic (Ragining Bull, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas) and a few other very solid films: Casion, Mean Streets, After Hours.
I don't feel like typing anymore, but some other directors I like, beucase they're films kinda stand out from other directors movies are:
David Lynch
Quentin Tarantino
PT Anderson
Howard Hawks
Some of Gus Van Sant's stuff
Some of De Palam's
Jean-Luc Godard
Clint Eastwood, especially in more recent years.
well looks like its time for me to take a trip to blockbuster and pick up a bunch of stuff by some of those guys!
i'm pretty excited about this year's resfest... gondry's newest film will be debuting there so im definitely going to check it out, anybody else planning on attending in their city?
