I have just purchased a wireless mike system, what type of amp would be good for voices?

I could be confused by your question, but I'm not sure you really want an amp when making a movie. Amps are generally used for music only.

With a wireless system you want a mixing board. The mixing board allows you to adjust the volumes of the different wireless devices and output a single source to your camera or DAT (or whatever).

At least that's the way I've been doing it. A decent mixing board can be had for less than $100 at Guitar center (8-10 channels). Seems the same board is often more expensive at places that sell to film makers than musicians, probably because musicians are known for being short of cash while film makers are always assumed for some reason to have money to burn.

great suggestion for wiresless!! yet on all locations shoots ive always recorded all sound on to mp3 player and masked it over in editing!! clear sound. or adjust sound with headphones on camara and whilst recording, to make sure you dont get feeedback. and a compressed mic is best for all vocals! p.s make sure battery forever charged!!?:D?

Guitar center will sell mixing boards with anywhere from 2 to 20 inputs. You probably only need 2 for starting out. One for the boom and one for any wireless system you have set up. Also remember that the mixing board requires power. If you are shooting outdoors away from any power source you need a generator or you can't use the mixer. They may come with battery powered mixers, I don't know.

If you are not using a boom you might consider plugging the wireless directly into the camera or DAT and adjusting volumes on the camera or DAT. I would suggest getting a boom though. Wireless mics can be tempermental.

Oh, and get lots of moleskin at the drug store to put between the wireless mic itself and the actors clothes. OTherwise you get scratchy sounds on the audio that is really distracting.
