When a filmmaker wants music and sound where do they go to find it? The reason I'm asking is because I am a horror film composer and I want to be in right place when filmmakers are looking for a composer. I post on a lot of forums and get some responses but I'm sure there are other ways as well. Any Ideas?

My good friend is a musician so he'll be doing the soundtrack on my movie. In fact three of his songs helped inspire the tone/theme of the movie.
Having said that, I would suggest checking out the listings in Backstage magazine. I put an add in there for actors and got a dozen emails from folks offering to do the soundtrack. It gets you in at the earlier stages of the production at least.
