Hello,
I'm a total beginner but I'm dying to make a few shorts. I haven't been able to convice friends or family to be in my movies.
So, where can I find actors who are willing to work for free and with a "director" who doesn't know a thing about making a movie?
Are there any web sites where I can post what I'm looing for?
I'm in northern NJ, half hour outside of NYC.
I?d say your best bet would be to post a flyer at your local colleges. There are plenty of actors looking for experience.
Better than posting on line because the personal approach is so much more... well... personal. Drop by the drama department and ask to speak to one of the teachers.
Are there any small theater groups in your area? Half an hour out of NYC should be crawling with up and coming actors who haven?t made the move to the big city. Are you near White Plains? WestCo Productions has a nice little theater there.
But if you would prefer the less personal approach:
