I'm making my first short outside of film school. So basically what's the best method/how do you re chord a voice over. Can I just literally go to a quite room and get the actor to speak into the mic (we're using a Sennheiser 416 Microphone) or will I have to book a recording studio? Surely there an easier way to do it them spending my money on that?
So you paid to go to film school and they didn't discuss recording
voice overs...
No, you don't need to book a studio. You can get the actor to speak
into the mic in quiet room.

Actually I'm not finished my course yet but anyway we did do a voice over before and we did it the way you suggested I was just wondering did anyone have any suggestions what was the best way to do it because I'm making a campaign video for a company and I want it at the highest standard I can yet keeping to my budget.
I understand better. You left out the part about doing this as a paid
job and needing the best way. The best way to do it is to book a studio
with an experienced audio engineer and top of the line equipment.
Charge the rental and fees to the company.
Congrats on getting the job while still in school!
