hi all

what makes a university the best educational institution,
the number of softwares teaches there, or the exposure one cn get or the envirnment for studying?

To the moderators.

It might be a good idea to have a seperate section for University vs Film School vs hard knox type questions since there is clearly some interest in that subject.

Not a bad idea rj. Though I did a little checking and there haven't been that many threads about this in past 6 months. Not as many as what camera to buy threads.

Some majors it's required because the amount of knowledge required (engineering, medical, legal) but for trades you can learn on the job. In those cases I think the main advantage of a university is to avoid the real world while you mature and experience a bit of freedom. Also making contacts can be helpful later if you're lucky and happen to go to school with the next Spielberg or something.

actully i m a forign student ...i rellly hav no idea which school delivres the best knowledge,which school provides best exposure and carreer opportunity. i wnt to make film making as my career as my proffession, i wnt to learn it very deeply n thouroughly,
n wen i think abt investing so much money for learning,accomodation,equipments i must knw wats best for me.

wil u b able to suggest anything.
