Hey all,
I'm an undergraduate film student at the University of Michigan and am trying to think about what to do after graduation. In hopes of being a director, do you think it would be valuable to attend some kind of graduate or trade school or should I just get a job in the industry, working my way up from the bottom up while making films on my own? I'm a little confused while trying to plan out the future. Thanks everyone!

If you are already attending film school then the next best thing is to make your own films to get experience directing. Are you not getting to direct in school? Attending graduate school is not going to get you any closer to being a director. Start shooting!
