Apart from getting a video camera, a script and actors what else do i need to make/complete a movie? What do i do with all the recordings? Is there a need to use computer softwares eventhough my movie does not need any special effects?

just get two vcr's and go tape to tape. thats what all the hip post houses are doin these days.

If you already have a computer, use it!!! It really helps a lot.
Everything really depends on the size of the film. If this is a film that can break you into film, then by all means go all out. But if this just a ho-hum film for fun, try and download trial verisons of software and such.

There are tons of programs you can get for free for reasonable special effects and editing. You can also pick up cheap-as-dirt video editing programs from computer stores. Remember to look at the editing things details before you concider using it, think about what you want the movie to be like.
I havnt used VCRs and tapes for editing at all (yet)m, it's all been transfered to my PC with some USB analauge thing.

if you have all the shots planed out, then u can use in camera editing. just record the movie shot for shot in order. if there is to much recorded, then just rewind it frame by frame to the one you want, and film the next shot.
