I'd like to believe someone with a background in film went into the gaming industry. I've been on Rockstar and other companies site and saw a post for voice over directors.

I guess L.A. Noir got me thinking about this since it's considered a cinematic video game. I always thought the game trailers and cut scenes were interesting. Where does filmmaking fit when it comes to video games? So much of it seems to be about animation and design. I read somewhere that producers usually wear many hats directing most of the time and have a background in game design. Does it fit in?

By "filmmaking" do you mean "storytelling? Do you mean "directing"? Do you
mean "writing"? Do you mean "lighting"?

Many aspects of filmmaking fit into gaming.

Writing may be the only aspect that's clear to me right now. They need writers for those cut scenes and trailers.

From what research I've done there is no such thing as a video game director. Where does directing fit in?
