Hi,

I hope you can help. We are running a charity concert in October, and I need to produce a couple of videos which will be screened on a cinema screen using a cinema projector.
Having only ever tinkered with the camera on my phone so far, I am by no means an expert in film making!
I was wondering, because money is tight and anything I spend would be coming out of the budget unnecessarily, if (dare I say it?!) I could use the iPhone 6 to film it, the films will mainly be static interviews with some atmospheric shots etc, I know I will need an external mic, although not sure what one.
If I can get away with using the iPhone, is there anything I need to be aware of in terms of production/export settings etc?
I use a Macbook and on our launch video, I edited using iMovie. It was ok for what we needed, although I found it quite restrictive and I think I need something better, but once again not much money!
Would love to have your advice on this, I apologise for any insult I may have caused!!

Thank you

Matt

I suggest you find someone involved in the charity who owns a video camera.
You don't need to be an expert or even know an expert but I'm sure there is
someone in your circle of friends and acquaintances who has a video camera
and has shot some short films and even interviews.

That said, yes, you can shoot interviews on your iPhone. And you can use
iMovie to edit and export. You're correct, iMovie has limitations but since
you don't have much money to spend it might be better to work within your
restrictions rather than spend money.

If this isn't what you want to hear I'll give you a list of equipment you might
purchase.
