I've been such a "crappy equipment/scotch tape" type
filmmaker. Working in Super 8, MiniDV, Fisher Price
PXL cams, old school VHS cams, whatever...yet i've
always relied on other editors to piece my stuff
together.

I want to get the computer at home fixed up to edit my
own stuff and transfer my own DV tapes and VHS footage.

MY 3 QUESTIONS ARE:

What editing software would you suggest?

&

What interface should i use to for plug ins?
(i.e. to plug in the VCR)

&

How much RAM should i be running, right now i'm 1GB
