Hi,
I'm wanting to buy a camera for filming travel documentaries. As such, I need something fairly small, robust, with XLR inputs and obviously with good picture quality. I've been advised to look at the Sony PD150 and 170 over the Canon XM2. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks
oli

I'd also look at the Sony Z1. It's a similar size to the PD150 and shoots true widescreen DV or high-definition HDV: I've heard that the BBC are currently dumping their PD150s for Z1s for documentary footage (mostly for shooting widescreen DV rather than HDV).
